Parallex 2.0 is coming October 18
From 2.0, Parallex is a one-time purchase. If you already use it, Parallex Pro is yours, free. Here's everything that changes, and everything that doesn't.
If you use Parallex today
- Pro is free for you, for good. Every Mac that used Parallex before October 6 can claim a free Parallex Pro license (up to 5 Macs) from inside 2.0. Nothing to fill in.
- Nothing you've made stops working. Your instances keep opening, with or without 2.0, and nothing is deleted.
- Parallex 1.9 keeps working as it is, if you'd rather not update.
- Claiming uses the anonymous number your Mac already sends with update checks, to tell that it used Parallex before October 6. If yours had update checks turned off, write to hello@mandip.dev and you'll get one anyway.
Prices
- Parallex: $4.99, once, for 3 Macs. At launch it's $2.99 for the first 30 buyers.
- Parallex Pro: $9.99, once, for 5 Macs, with the more advanced features as they arrive. From Parallex, it's a $5 upgrade.
- Every 2.x update is included. No subscription, no account.
- Try everything free for 14 days on each Mac. If it isn't right for you, a full refund within 14 days, no questions.
Why
Parallex is made by one student, and it changes every week: a nightly lab tests it against 35 apps, and a lot of work goes into keeping copies of other apps working as they update. Charging a little, once, keeps that going. It also means Parallex is now signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app.
From 2.0, Parallex's code is no longer public. Everything released before 2.0 stays under its MIT license.
