License agreement

Parallex is made by Mandip Adhikari ("I"). By installing or using Parallex 2.0 or later, you agree to this.

Last updated October 4, 2026.

What you get

A license lets you use Parallex on up to 3 Macs you use, or 5 with Parallex Pro, for as long as you like. It covers every 2.x version. A later major version may be a paid upgrade. If it is, license holders get it at a discount, and the version you have keeps working.

The trial

Each Mac can use everything in Parallex free for 14 days. After that, Parallex needs a license to make or change instances. Instances you already made keep opening either way, and you can always export or remove them.

What you may not do

Share your license beyond your own Macs, resell it, or get around the license check. From 2.0, Parallex's code isn't open source: don't redistribute Parallex or changed versions of it.

The apps you copy

Parallex makes separate copies of apps that are already on your Mac and keeps their data apart. It doesn't give you any right to those apps. You're responsible for using them within their own terms, including how many copies or accounts they allow.

Refunds and chargebacks

A refunded or charged-back purchase ends its license. The terms of sale say how refunds work.

No warranty

Parallex is provided as it is. I work to keep it reliable, and it's tested every night, but I can't promise it will work with every app or every macOS version. To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for lost data, lost access to accounts, or other damages from using it. Keep backups of anything important.

Changes

If this agreement changes, the new version applies to new versions of Parallex. It never takes away what a license you bought already covered.

Earlier versions

Parallex 1.x was released under the MIT License, and those copies stay under it.
